A2音源是卡西欧从90年代开始在其电子琴电钢琴上广泛使用的压缩采样音源技术，根据卡西欧的描述该音源“使用了先进算法使大量波形数据存储成为可能，产生清晰、圆润且真实的音色”，这种音源高低端产品的听感差别较大，中高端A2音源的音色精细度更高，且有的型号还带有全局混响效果(例如：CTK-711EX)，低端A2音源听感则比较粗糙(例如：ctk-501)。本数据库在“带效果器的A2音源“后使用“DSP”后缀，“低端A2音源”后使用“L“后缀进行标注以示区分。
